The Top Three Most Romantic Restaurants in Los Angeles

Updated on Mar 13, 2016

Proflowers has come up with a list of the 245 most romantic restaurants in America. Los Angeles has three in the top fifteen with a Santa Barbara restaurant capturing number one!

Proflowers came up with the list by researching reputable restaurant sites like OpenTable, Restaurant.com, Gayot, and TravelAndLeisure.com. They looked at user reviews, ratings, awards, and exclusivity (the harder to make a reservation, the higher the score). According to the list, here are the top three most romantic restaurants in Los Angeles.

#15 Il Cielo, Beverly Hills

The photo gallery on the Il Cielo website is pretty amazing. I’m not surprised this restaurant made the list. It’s located at 9018 Burton Way, Los Angeles, between Doheny and Roberston. Proflowers says:

“With private rooms and peaceful garden patios, Il Cielo offers seclusion for lovebirds to leisurely dine on classic fare from the Italian countryside. This country-style restaurant in the middle of Beverly Hills has been voted one of Los Angeles’ favorite romantic restaurants by readers of About.com, Zagat and OpenTable. We suggest sitting outside under the sparkling lights for a truly enchanted evening.”

#11. The Skyroom, Long Beach

If you’ve been keeping up with my site, might have already read my review of the Skyroom! Proflowers says:

“The Sky Room sits atop the historic Breakers Hotel in Long Beach where it offers guests 360-degree views of the city lights, a bustling port or the expansive ocean. During Hollywood’s golden age, the restaurant attracted the most romantic celebrities—stars such as Elizabeth Taylor and Cary Grant. Couples still flock to the Art Deco restaurant to celebrate special occasions and share meaningful moments in the restaurant with the philosophy of ‘dining, dancing and romancing.'”

#4. The Little Door, Los Angeles

The Little Door website describes the restaurant as a “hidden paradise”. I’ve never been there and definitely want to check it out. It’s located at 8164 W 3rd Street. A new location is on it’s way in Santa Monica (and may be open by the time you read this!) Proflowers says:

“Take someone special to this Parisian brasserie in Los Angeles serving French cuisine with a Moroccan twist. The romantic courtyard is a popular choice for dining al fresco year-round. One of Gayot’s 2014 Top Valentine Restaurants, The Little Door is an exotic escape for Angelenos looking to spend some quality time together.”

The Number One Most Romantic Restaurant in America

Number one on the list is within driving distance of Los Angeles. Proflowers named Stonehouse in Santa Barbara has the most romantic restaurant in America:

“Few restaurants have the romantic pedigree of San Ysidro Ranch in the Montecito foothills of Santa Barbara. Vivien Leigh and Sir Laurence Olivier exchanged vows in the garden and John and Jackie Kennedy honeymooned at the hotel. It is on these storied grounds that one will also find The Stonehouse Restaurant, a romantic favorite built in a 19th-century citrus packinghouse. Sit under the stars on the ocean-view deck or cozy up to the fireplace in the main dining room for a regional meal prepared with herbs and vegetables grown in the chef’s garden.”
